What is Free Radicals Project?
Free Radicals Project is a global disengagement platform that aids individuals, and their families or communities, in exiting hateful and violence-based radicalization through non-aggressive, community-led methods of individual resiliency-building, reconnection, cross-cultural immersion, and making amends. The staff have decades of personal and professional experience in all forms of violence-based extremism, both working with, and amongst, radicalized individuals.
Free Radicals is founded by Christian Picciolini, a world-renowned leader in the field of extremism intervention, prevention, and disengagement. He trains government and law enforcements agencies throughout the world in the most effective approaches to countering violence- and hate-based movements. Christian was recently appointed by the Cook County of Illinois United States Attorney's Office to perform the U.S.'s first court-mandated "intervention" of a hate crime perpetrator. He helped launch exit programs in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Slovakia.
Christian has both the experience of being a former violent extremist and of working in the intervention and disengagement space for over twenty years. His skillset in regards to understanding and applying methodologies in this field of study and practice is unparalleled. He is highly sought after for his knowledge, insight, and abilities in developing highly functional community-based counter-violence programs.
